BAND - Streetlight

Band Profile

Streetlight are a fun and funky, seven-piece, fully live function band who will keep a diverse crowd entertained for any occasion.

Their wide-ranging repertoire takes in a number of musical styles including funk, disco and soul with a dash of classic rock and a smattering of up-to-date chart hits.

Streetlight have a very broad approach to set lists, which can range from Otis Redding to Kaiser Chiefs, and from Stevie Wonder to Queen, (via the seldom heard Power of Love from the film Back to the Future.)

Their aim is to cater for the wide-ranging tastes of the average wedding reception or party, but more tailored sets focussing on particular styles can be arranged depending on the occasion.

The seven musicians swap themselves around to offer various combinations of male and/or female vocalist, one or two electric guitars, piano/keyboards, bass, drums and a three-strong horn section including two saxophones, a trumpet and a flute.

Performances also include up to four-part vocal harmony.

The band is newly formed, but draws on vast experience of the seven members, who have provided music professionally for television on both ITV and BBC dramas, BBC One’s breakfast programme and even ITV’s News at 10.

They have also toured extensively in France, Germany, Holland, Luxembourg, Greece, Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

They have played at some of the UK’s most prestigious venues, including the O2/Millennium Dome, Blackpool Opera House, St George’s Hall, London’s Hammersmith Apollo, Grosvenor and Hilton Hotels.

They have worked with an eclectic list of well known performers including Roy Wood, Des O’Connor, Jimmy Tarbuck, Max Bygraves, Little and Large, Cannon and Ball, Faith Brown, Noel Edmunds, Ian McMillan and Bernie Clifton.

Members also toured with a UK Blues Brothers Show, and have worked alongside some names in the Soul world such as Jimmy Ruffin, Edwin Starr and Clem Curtis.

They use there own quality PA system and can also provide recorded music/disco before, between and after their sets so as to dispense with a DJ, thus saving money and space.

The band are already taking bookings for weddings this summer and in 2009, and they look forward to adding a touch of class and musical finesse to your next event. They are smart, polished, and professional. But above all they enjoy performing, which helps ensure their audience is smiling too.
