Blackpool Celebrate With LMM DJ

Blackpool Celebrate With LMM DJ

The atmosphere in Blackpool Walkabout on Monday Nights is always electric but Monday May 24 was off the scale!

Blackpool Football club had just achieved their landmark victory to secure their place in the Premiership and the whole town was out celebrating when in walk the whole Blackpool Football team all suited and booted and ready to party.

Although initially they were only going to stay for 30 minutes they ended up spending the whole night in the company of party games specialist DJ Matt Stephens who made sure the night was a great atmosphere for all iu the venue.

Our congratulations to the Blackpool team (I believe as of 60 minutes ago questions have been asked in the House Of Commons in order to give them some official recognition) and big congratulations to Nick and his team at the Walkabout Blackpool for hosting such a fantastic night.

Of course it goes without saying that we would like to congratulate LMM DJ Matt Stephens for another job well done.

Bands And DJs For School Proms

The Most Famous School Prom in Cinema History (apart from Carrie!!)

The Most Famous School Prom in Cinema History (apart from Carrie!!)

My nephew went out and bought his first suit yesterday. It   wasnt in preperation for a court appearance it was for the new rite of passage which all teenagers in the UK look forward to and make a huge effort for…the school prom.

Back in my day the school leavers disco was pop and crisps and Mr Jenkins playing records ,that we had all brought in , on a broken down single turntable record player.I seem to remember I was wearing  jeans and almost certainly noone would have had an £80 spray tan for the event.

School Proms in the 21st Century are a whole different ballgame and my nephew was telling me that it is not unusual for his female friends to spend £400 on fake tan, prom dress and limo.

With so much at stake on what is going to be one of the biggest events of a young persons life you need to get the entertainment spot on.Mr Jenkins spinning the discs whilst smelling of strong mints and tobacco is not going to cut it for todays sophisticated youth.

If you are organising a school prom and looking for a top quality DJ or band that are suitable for a  teenage audience then please contact LMM on info@lmmuk.com or 08454 900515 we are suppliers to a variety of Universities and youthful Venues and  we also supply a number of schools with their prom night entertainment. We will be able to advice you of the right act to suit your audience and budget.

You only attend a school prom once so get the prom entertainment right with LMM the entertainment specialist.

Climbing Ben Nevis

Our Climbing Group Half Way Up Ben Nevis-Note T Shirts!

Our Climbing Group Half Way Up Ben Nevis-Note T Shirts!

At LMM we often list our hobbies as music, music and more music however this week I fulfilled a long term ambition to climb a BIG mountain.

I am no mountaineer and I will not even pretend that this is any beginners guide to climbing Ben Nevis but the novice may find the photos at the top and bottom of this page helpful.

For the first two hours of our assent we had beautiful, hot weather. It was like climbing in Spain! The views were sensational and we considered ourselves very lucky indeed to have picked Monday May 17 2010 to climb Ben Nevis.

Of course the picture at the bottom of this page will show you the difference when we reached the top….near Arctic temperatures, cloud cover and deep snow.

Luckily the cloud cover broke a couple of times and we had clear views othe mountain ranges around Ben Nevis and the sun (when it did break through) burned red hot.

So ,as I have already mentioned, I am not going to make any claim to being able to advice the beginner about preparing to climb Ben Nevis (there are a whole load of online beginners guides to climbing Ben Nevis so make sure you check them out) suffice to say that this moderatly fit novis climber was able to get to the summitt (albeit on a fantastic day) and if climbing Ben Nevis is on your list of a thousand things to do before you die then I would say “go for it”……it was one of the ultimate experiences.

If I have to tie this blog about Ben Nevis back to booking entertainment I could mention that for about an hour I had random shuffle on my Ipod and all of a sudden the Cantamus Girls Choir came on singing U2s “Still Havent Found What I Am Looking For” (appropriate given its opening line of I have climbed every mountain) LMM have some ex members of the Cantamus Girls Choir available for functions and weddings along with similiar acts like Dolce Vocals http://www.lmmuk.com/band/Dolce+Vocals

Anyway it was a great experience and the chaps I went with turned out to be a great bunch of guys so Climbing Ben Nevis-We Salute You!!
