As I write this the sun is shining and we have just put the finishing touches to the summer schedule for Newquay Walkabout.

The Walkabout in Newquay is located in an incredible spot on a cliff top overlooking Towan Beach. There are panoramic views both through the big glass windows and from the decking outside the pub.

Through the summer LMM book a packed entertainment schedule with activities every night from the May Bank Holiday onwards. When Run To The Sun and the Rip Curl events happen in Newquay the Walkabout responds with the best party rock bands and DJs in the UK and the summer party doesn’t end until October.

If you are going to Newquay or Cornwall for any of the big festivals over the Summer like the Relentless Boardmasters festival which runs from Aug 6 to 12 or the Budweiser K Festival make sure you keep an eye on the bands and DJs playing in the Walkabout.

If you are getting married in Cornwall visit www.lmmuk.com or email info@lmmuk.com for the best wedding entertainment in the Cornish area. Remember LMM have been supplying the premier live covers band venue in Cornwall (Newquay Walkabout) with bands and DJs from the moment it opened back in 2001.

The Easter bank holiday weekend saw the Brazilian party rock band Brainscape return to the Walkabout stage with their great covers of modern indie and rock tunes plus the odd surprise track. DJ Richard Harris was be back after a winter which has seen him working in the Middle East (amongst other exotic locations.)

The Easter weekend was massive down at the Walkabout with Brainscape playing an incredible high energy set which had the place rocking. DJ Nick Reynolds, DJ Richard Harris and DJ Steven Haines played blinding sets or party classics, dance music, RNB and indie favourites which the Newquay surfing faithful lapped up.

Some of LMM’s favourite bands will be playing the Walkabout in Newquay over the summer. Amongst them will be

Back in December our great three piece party band Union Jack played a very special wedding which the guys from the band travelled a long way to perform at.

LMM had a call from a lady who had met her fiancé at the Walkabout in Newquay.Their first kiss was as Union Jack were playing on the massive Newquay Walkabout stage. They really wanted Union Jack to play at their wedding reception as they had always remembered the special moment when the pair of them met dancing to Union Jack.

So on December 20 2008 Union Jack left their home base in Bradford to travel to Kitley House Hotel in Plymouth where they entertained the guests at the wedding reception.

Congratulations to the happy couple who met in Newquay Walkabout as Union Jack played their party set and then went ahead and booked them for their wedding reception. The guys in Union Jack were thrilled to play for them and would like to take this opportunity (albeit belatedly) to wish them all the best for the future.

If you are going down to Cornwall over the summer check out the schedule at Newquay Walkabout and pop in for a drink and a dance. You will find no better entertainment in the whole of that area. We have bands travelling down from London and beyond just to enjoy a weekend of fun by the sea. As they take to the legendary Walkabout stage they know they are in front of one of the most responsive, up for it crowds in the whole of the UK and they put on a show which matches the crowds expectations. I have seen some of our excellent bands at Newquay perform what can only be described as career best performances. It must be the sea air!

From July onwards LMM have a schedule of the UKs top tribute bands playing at Walkabout on Thursday nights. I will post a special tribute band blog later with the schedule and a brief description of each.

Mick and Union Jack.Thank you so much for an amazing nights entertainment. Worth every penny. They were flexible with our requests and are a much more likely to get people dancing than any DJ.

I remember an evening when the Walkabout had first opening in Newquay. After the band had finished on stage and the DJ played the last record of the night (Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen if I remember rightly) the house lights came on and, as the staff swept up ,the manager sat myself and the band down by the windows overlooking Towan Beach. We nursed a cold drink and stared through the glass at the panoramic view.Through the inky blackness we could see small camp fires twinkling away on the beach a couple of hundred feet below and a canopy of stars overhead. It was a perfect night.
All of a sudden a face appeared at the window. He had long starggly hair covered by a beanie hat.He had scaled the sheer cliff face and was now banging on the window. The manager opened the top window and the guy said “Can you get me a a couple of pints of lager and some crisps.”
    Unfortunatly the pub was closed.
