wedding entertainment
As we get towards Christmas Live Music Management usually begin to reflect on the highlights of the year just past. When we look back at 2012 it’s been a pretty good year all in all ,much busier than we maybe expected , and with some really great and successful events in many different arenas. We are looking back at thousands of individual bookings for deejays and party bands , swing acts and classical musicians (and other miscellaneous entertainment!) and each one is worthy of comment however with the time and space allowed we are just going to single out a few.
Thanks to all the clients who booked entertainment with Live Music Management this year . We have been lucky to add some fantastic new clients for events and parties. We have also supplied a number of individual Brides and Grooms with their wedding entertainment and we would particularly like to thanks those clients who have passed on our details to their friends and colleagues getting married. Our long term clients like Intertain UK and Cavendish Bars deserve some special mention as we pass into our fifteenth year of supplying entertainment to the Walkabout bars…thanks so much for your continued business.
Of course every single function band and DJ working for us is an ambassador for Live Music Management and I would like to thank all of you for your hard work and professionalism.
Highlights Of 2012
1.Cardiff Walkabout re opened after a massive refitt. It looked fantastic, the atmosphere was terrific and I particularly enjoyed seeing five hundred people doing the Gangham Style dance for the first time (thanks DJ Ritchie) well before the dance went overground and was released and in the charts. The Hi Fidels party band did a fantastic job earlier in the evening and it was great catching up with them and hearing their brilliant show.
2.With bands playing throughout the year for the military overseas it would be difficult to pick a highlight but when two of our musicians were awarded the Afghanistan medal for services to the military in Afghanistan this stood out as a major achievement and something Live Music Management are proud to have had a small part in.
3.The Olympics were brilliant for LMM and our acts played at the Australian Rowing teams base throughout the final week of the Olympics for the Aussie team. We also had The Bondis playing at a ceremony to welcome the Australian Olympics team to the UK at which a new Guiness world record was set for the most people wearing the same team strip.
4. Live Music Management were very proud to have supplied DJs to a couple of events for the para olympics teams.
5.Carlisle Walkabout DJs ran a Cumbrias Got Talent night (final on December 28) and showed what a great deal of talent was present in the area and had a lot of fun into the bargain. A massive succes for the DJs and for the site. Congratulations.
6.Australia House booked our DJ for their annual Australia Day celebrations and these proved to be as marvelous as previous years. The Walkabout bars throughout the UK had tremendous atmospheres on Australia Day but if you could have been in Covent Garden , Temple or Shepherds Bush you would have known why January 26 is a must go out night in the LMM diary.
7. The University Bandeoke aka Rockaoke bookings in 2012 have been great nights and we look forward to more University live karaoke in 2013.
8. Of all the iconic London venues LMM supplied wedding entertainment to we would like to mention The Gherkin where Soul Dedication enjoyed a wonderful wedding back in February. This is the third or fourth wedding we have supplied acts to at The Gherkin. Its fantastic.
9.DJ Krystal Rox played several event in Romania and Eastern Europe for live music management this year and every one was a stormer!
10.On a personal note I really enjoyed putting the Mirror Crack’d back together for a charity performance in November. This was the band I formed in Sheffield whilst still at school. We had a couple of singles out at the time (back in the 80s) but didnt realise that so many people had such affection for the band. We raised money for charity and had such a great time that we are doing it again in April 2013.
I could go on and on …….I forgot to mention the best wedding of the year which was our very own Alex Howies wedding to Sheron at which the stiltwalking band and Stynie from The Hi Fidels both played great sets.
2012 was a great year despite the gloomy forecasts in the media and Live Music Management look forward to 2013 as a year of fantastic talent playing brilliant events for lovely people.
