Walkabout Birmingham

Walkabout Birmingham

Birmingham Walkabout reopens this weekend after a £1,000,000 refurbishment and Live Music Management managed to get a sneak peak of the venue last night when we held a DJ meeting in the venue.

The Birmingham Walkabout has been an institution on Broad Street for well over a decade surviving where others have failed by offering a great, memorable night out in friendly surroundings with fantastic entertainment (supplied by Live Music Management folks!) The refurbishment takes the Walkabout to a whole different level with a beautiful wave bar on the upstairs level and some spacious VIP areas . Of particular interest to the Deejays present yesterday was the DJ booth which has been moved to an area where it will be more accessible for your valued requests and shout outs.

The downstairs club room has been dramatically transformed with an attractive aquarium screen behind the bar itself and many different areas for seating.Again the DJ booth has been made more accessible to put the DJ right in the centre of the action.

Live Music Management have a line up of the best DJs in the Midlands ready to work seven nights a week for your enjoyment and you should check out the Walkabout listings for the different events happening.Of particular interest might be Sundays where you can take part in and watch extreme party games with DJ Jim Brown and Doug E Love holding court. Mid week will see theme nights like Tuesdays Pash N Pop celebration of Cheese and party pop with Thursdays offering a “no lighty no likey” style fun night of on stage shenanigans with Playtime.

Live Music will be back this Saturday for Birmingham Walkabout Australia Day celebrations featuring one of our favourite party bands , Lucas. Fridays will feature regular after work acoustic music for the wind up to the weekend with acoustic duos. Thinks Friday we have our Freak Out duo doing the honours between 7pm and 9pm.

Live Music Management will be back down at Birmingham Walkabout this Thursday (January 24 2013) for the VIP opening party with The Hi Fidels party band and DJs Matt Munroe and DJ Barri offering two floors of fun. I am sure you will be made very welcome if you manage to make it down yourself. If you live in the Birmingham area or planning a visit to the capitol of the Midlands then you should make this fantastic, friendly venue part of your itinerary. Live Music Management  Manager Vince, Darren and the rest of the staff down there all the best for a brilliant and succesful opening weekend.

Australia Day 2013

Australia Day 2013

The final preperations are being made by Live Music Management for the Australia Day 2013 celebrations. Australia Day is one of the biggest nights in the Live Music Management calendar given our long standing relationship with the Walkabout Australian bars and this is our sixteenth year of supplying live bands and DJs to Australia Day events.

Australia Day 2013 looks like being a really great evening in our bars and clubs. Australia Day is January 26 and this year it falls on a Saturday so there is even more opportunity for partying. For the reader who is not familiar with Australia Day the background is that it is the national day of Australia celebrating the arrival of the first fleet into Sydney back in 1788. Like many of these celebratory days (ST Patricks Day anyone?) Australia Day has morphed into a day when people of all nationalities unleash their inner Australian and celebrate. This has been accelerated ,no doubt,by the prescense of Walkabout bars in most major towns.

As in previous years Live Music Management have some fantastic entertainment lined up for Australia Day 2013. The London Walkabout bars will be rammed from lunchtime and we are offering the very best in Aussie party bands for these venues.

Shepherds Bush Walkabout kicks off around 1pm with Front Cover who are an Australian power party duo and have a great set. They will be followed by sets from The Bondis and The Hi Fidels. All three bands are fronted by Australians and will be throwing in some of the great Aussie anthems amongst the party sets.

Temple Walkabout will be doubling up with Shepherds Bush and both The Hi Fidels and The Bondis will make their way over to Temple after their sets at the Bush to offer brilliant cover band sets at Temple.

Both Temple and Shepherds Bush have DJs on playing Aussie anthems and the Triple J hot 100.

Covent Garden Walkabout has a four band line up with Brooke Supple, Front Cover, Check Mate and Tim Barton offering a full days entertainment mixing Aussie anthems and party classics. Its is worth checking out these party duos and solos if you looking to book some first class entertainment for your party in 2013.

Barnsley Walkabout are celebrating with a set of Rockaoke aka Bandeoke or Live Band Karaoke.

Liverpool Walkabout will having some live music from Tony Urchin followed by two great Deejays.

Nottingham Walkabout have a class AC/DC tribute band playing followed by party DJ.

Bristol, Plymouth and Exeter Walkabouts all have live bands playing following by DJ entertainment.

The list goes on so check out your local Walkabout bar for local listings.

On a seperate note Live Music Management are also proud to be supplying the mobile DJ for the annual Australia House ball on Australia Da

Prime Circle At Shepherds Bush Walkabout June 24 2012

Wednesday, June 20th, 2012
prime circle

prime circle

South African music legends Prime Circle are playing Shepherds Bush Walkabout this coming Sunday,June 24 2012 following their appearance at the Homelanz Festival. The band will be playing songs from their ten year career and this is an amazing opportunity for fans to see this fantastic live band up close and personal.

Live Music Management have been booking Antipodean and Southern Hemisphere recording acts into Shepherds Bush Walkabout for well over a decade and over the years we have had acts as diverse as The Exponents, Grinspoon, Men At Work , Rolf Harris and Springbok Nude Girls playing on the She Bu stage.

The Shepherds Bush Walkabout has become a home from home for many visiting Southern Hemisphere bands and this is in large part down to the fantastic management team down at the venue , especially the manager Adam, who promote the dates and make the acts feel welcome. The venue itself proves a great intimate atmosphere for the acts, many of whom are playing stadiums back home.

This part of Live Music Managements work is an interesting sideline to our daily booking of cover bands and bands for weddings and is something that the team in the office get a real kick from when the sold out sign flies outside the Shepherds Bush Walkabout.

You can buy tickets for Prime Circles Shepherds Bush Walkabout show from the venue itself. There should be some tickets available on the door on the night but you would be advised to buy tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.

newquay walkabout

The Summer season at Newquay Walkabout began with a vengeance last Friday, Saturday and Sunday when the venue was rocked to the core by the Easter entertainment.

Party rock band Skywalker had the place jumping on Friday and Saturday night with a set that included all the great anthems of the last ten years. Skywalker are also one of the UKs top Rockaoke (aka Bandeoke or Live Band Karaoke) bands . They have played throughout the UK and beyond and are a fantastic live draw with a set that always has the audience rocking. If you are interested in booking Skywalker for any events either as a Rockaoke or Bandeoke band or just as a great party band then please contact the LMM office.

Local band The Sound provided the live music for the Sunday night with a crowd pleasing party set.

The party DJs for the weekend delivered great sets.

Live Music Management have been supplying entertainment for Newquay Walkabout for over ten years now and its a great honour to be associated with this impressive venue which stands in the site of an old cinema overlooking the beach. If you are popping over to Newquay during the summer you are sure to see some great entertainment.

Australia Day Shepherds Bush Walkabout The Bondis

Wednesday, April 4th, 2012

As Anzac Day approaches (wednesday April 25 is a public holiday in Australia and widely celebrated by Ex pat Aussies living in the UK) we felt it was time to look back to Australia Day 2012 and a new video which captures the excitement of Australia Day in a Walkabout venue.

The Bondis are one of Live Music Managements favourite acts. They have worked for us for ten years and have held residencies and performed one night stands in Walkabout venues throughout that time. Besides this they are in great demand for events and weddings.

One of the regular band bookings over the past ten years has been the Shepherds Bush Walkabout Australia Day concert. This all day event attracts thousands of ex pat Aussies and has a fantastic and exciting atmosphere. The video at the head of this page says far more than I can put into words.

If you are interested in booking a great Australian cover band then call the LMM office on 0845 900515

St Patricks Day 2012

Thursday, March 15th, 2012
st patricks day

st patricks day

St Patricks Day 2012 is shaping up to be the busiest day of the year so far in terms of bookings. It also looks like being a fantastic day for trade in the various venues that Live Music Management place party bands and DJs into.

Re The Walkabout venues March 17 should be a really special day with six nations Rugby starting early and finishing with the match of the year…Ireland V England on St Paddys Day. If that isn’t exciting enough Live Music Management have laid on some match time entertainment in many of the sites.

At Sheffield Walkabout , Leicester Walkabout and Watford Watford there will be a trumpet player and drummer enhancing the awesome atmosphere by playing the rabble rousing Irish and English tunes during the game and in the breaks.

In Plymouth Walkabout there will be stilt walkers and fire girls strutting around the venue togged up in Rugby gear entertaining the crowds.

Many of the Walkabout bars will follow up the big games with a spot of live music. As it is St Pats day you can be assured  that there will be an Irish slant to the cover bands set list.

Of course if your local Walkabout bar does not have live music you can be certain that Live Music Management will have supplied one of the UKs best party DJs to entertain you.

Its going to be a big weekend and I will blog more tomorrow about the other great entertainment planned for St Patricks Day Weekend 2012.
