Bandeoke is a band that offer the opportunity for audience members to get up on stage and sing with them. The craze began over in the United States under a variety of names including Punk Rock Karaoke and Rockaoke and Live Music Management created the first fully live Bandeoke bands in the UK back in the early 2000′s. The vast majority of Bandeoke bands are three piece acts with drums, guitar and bass and at least one member of the band able to sing lead vocals.Occasionally Bandeoke bands will be augmented by keyboards , horn sections or MC’s (often MC’s who are also lead singers.)
A good Bandeoke band will combine a number of qualities.
1.They must be great musicians able to play a number of styles and retain a large set list of songs in order to cope with any kind of audience.

4.Before the concert, in many cases, the Bandeoke band will circulate song lists around the audience and speak to potential singers in order to get performers enlisted before the show begins.

Today’s blog is about an individual band that have been causing quite a stir at the shows they have played over the past twelve months. Personally I hadn’t seen the band in the flesh until about six months ago (my colleague Alex had been raving about them for sometime after auditioning them in London and I had seen the videos.) My first taste of The Present live was at a VIP event on the Thames Embankment. They didnt have to play more than a few bars of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” before I knew we had something special on our hands. The Present are a great party band
The Present combine great musicianship with superb vocals and stage prescence. Their experience of playing a variety of venues has provided them with the chops to turn any evening into a party and that’s exactly what they did on the evening that I caught them live.
