We had the pleasure of seeing the great wedding band Velvet Monkey last night on ITV’s “For Better Or Worse” documentary. They performed “Everybody Needs Somebody To Love” whilst the bride and groom , Charlotte and Tom, danced around in Blue Brothers hats andd their wedding finery.

Charlotte and Tom looked like a fun couple. Tom had proposed whilst wearing a leprachaun outfit and attempting to set a world record for leprachauns running the London marathon so I guess its no surprise that they chose a lively and fun party band for their wedding day.

Velvet Monkey offer a good value option for wedding parties in the Surrey area. They have a singer who plays keyboards so they offer an extra instrument which many four piece bands are not able to offer.

If you are looking for a great band for your party or wedding and fancy using a band who have a bit of TV glitterdust sprinkled on them then give the Live Music Management office a call on 08454 900515 or email info@lmmuk.com we should be able to help.

Live Music Management Bands On TV

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011

Back in 2003 I was the judge in a daytime TV talent show called Love2shop. It was set in the Trafford Centre and I was a cut price Simon Cowell judging contestants in a segment reffered to by all concerned as Shop Idol!!

The staff of the Trafford Centre in Manchester had  been offered the chance to show their hidden singing talents and to sing in front of a panel of judges. Before I  appeared on the show my missus said “please don’t try and be funny…..you are not a funny man..even your own family struggle to find you funny!”

Anyway it was broadcast over six or seven episodes and my TV carear was short lived. I didnt get the call when Cheryl Cole left the X Factor.

I mention the above because when we look back there have been dozens ( probably hundreds) of occasions when our acts have appeared on TV shows.

Most famously wedding singer     and night club performer Jamie Archer (aka Afro)  appeared on X Factor and got right through to the last few contestants but besides this many of our wedding bands and function acts have turned up on TV shows.

One of our classical acts for weddings MSQ was featured on Downton Abbey this year.

At the other end of the TV spectrum a jazz band of ours was featured on this years Shameless!!

Jade who are a brilliant function band were the house band on the Charlotte Church show.

Party band The Hi Fidels were the house band on the Saturday Show with Danni Behr.

One of our mobile DJs featured as the house DJ/MC on a daytime ITV chat show in 2009

Our live karaoke bands (aka Rockaoke or bandeoke ) have featured on several shows including Love2shop and the wedding programme called Show And Tell.

Last Christmas our Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley Tribute acts were the stars of Romanias most watched Xmas day show. Our Rolling Stones Tribute recently appeared on TV.

Then there are the dozens of TV appearances that individual musicians have made as part of their regular session work.

If you would like further details of the great Live Music Management bands and DJs that have appeared on TV both here and overseas then contact the LMM office on 08454 900515.

Do You Want To Get Your Party Band On TV ?

Do you want to get on TV?

Do you want to get on TV?

“We are looking for groups of workmates who have formed bands or musical acts for an exciting new musical competition show where people from different professions across every region in the UK will perform against each other.

Since you offer a selection of tribute acts, I was wondering if perhaps you knew of any that have arisen as a result of their working together?

If you could distribute the flyer via anyone you think who may be suitable or alternatively if you could recommend a direct contact of a pre existing group I would be very grateful.

We’re looking to confirm acts before Christmas and then film a pilot in the early New Year, so to be in with a chance of taking part the sooner we hear from interested parties, the better.”

Live Music Management are often approached by TV companies looking for acts for a particular show…recently Britains Got Talent were in touch about a cabaret act for next years series.

If anyone thinks that their wedding band suits the brief above then please do get in touch.

You may well join the long list of LMM party bands and function bands who have appeared on TV (more of that shortly!!)
