The True Spirit Of Salsa-The Sugar Kings London Latin Band

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011

The first time I saw The Sugar Kingsplay was at the Cobden Club in Kensal Road,North London.

The occasion was LMM director Timbos birthday party and the Sugar Kings played a two hour set of Cuban classics designed to get everyone Salsa dancing.I seem to remember we drank quite a few mojitos and caipirinhas that night but it wasn’t just the sugary alcohol that made the Sugar Kings seem so sweet.

Infectious rhythms, captivating melodies, superb musicianship, the authentic sound of Cuba…they brought downtown Havana to North London and the night resulted in many rebookings for this awesome band.

If you wish to book a Latin band for your party, wedding or event please visit the Latin page on the LMM website or call the LMM office for advice about the most appropriate act for your Latin based function.

Beat Latino -Latin Salsa with a rock twist

Beat Latino are a Manchester based Latin and Salsa band with a difference.

They take the cool vibes of Latin music and add the energy of indie rock to provide a modern update of the Santana sound which creates a massive party vibe at every Beat Latino show.

If you are looking to hire a high energy latin salsa fusion act for a wedding, party or event then take a look at the Beat Latino samples here http://www.lmmuk.com/band/Beat+Latino

Beat Latino are the party band everyone is talking about. Hailing from Manchester with its renowned musical heritage, the guys have quickly grown to prominence on the circuit. Their unique ability to fuse together pop music from the 60’s onwards with authentic Latino rhythms means that not only do you recognise the sing-a-long tunes, you also have to get up and dance to them!!

All members have an illustrious past working in the music industry. Leon fronted Mid ’90′s major act ‘Northern Uproar,’ performing on Top of the Pops, TFI Friday and touring the world as Paul Weller’s support amongst others.

Diego is a fully fledged latino player having been born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. Coming from a musical family that entertained the hilltop villages and towns while he grew up, Diego is now about to complete a musical degree in Manchester which he fits around his busy teaching schedule and touring obligations.
Danny also divides his time between educating and being educated and is also about to complete a degree in popular music and recording/production.
Nick started touring at 18 performing over 1000 live dates over a five year period before going into the commercial studio business in Manchester city centre. As a session drummer he has appeared on tour with Jimmy Cliff and Lady Smith Black Mambazo amongst others at venues like Shepherds Bush Empire and Glastonbury.

With flamenco guitar flourishes and tight dance rhythms Beat Latino are an infectious act guaranteed to get your party jumping!!
