DJ Meeting This Week
This Thursday (September 22 ) there is a DJ meeting for all the DJs based North of Birmingham. The meeting starts promptly at 2pm in Leeds Walkabout and will cover a wide range of topics of interest to LMM DJs working in Walkabout , Highlight and Bar Risa city centre bars.
I often think that being a DJ is a little like being a stand up comedian . You work alone and often have nothing to gauge your success on other than the crowd reaction (which sometimes can be misleading particularly if you are working on a night where people leave at a certain time regardless of what you seem to do or numbers aren’t coming through the door in the first place.) DJ meetings are a great opportunity to share experiences , get ideas , chat about problems and find out what’s happening in the rest of the estate and beyond and speak to other DJs which is something highly valuable in itself.
This particular round of DJ meetings will also include some training on the new equiptment recently installed in most of the Walkabouts and discussions about the new themed nights running across the Walkabout venues .
We hope to see many of you in Leeds on Thursday. On Oct 4 at 1pm there is a meeting in Birmingham Walkabout for the Midlands DJs . We are about to schedule a meeting in the London area shortly and details of this will follow by email.
