Entertainment For Military Balls

Live Music Management have a long history of supplying live bands and party DJs to military events both here in the UK and overseas.

If you were to make a  list of the places you would think it least likley to see a Live Music Management band then I would think Afghanistan would be close to the top and yet we have two bands playing in Afghanistan for the troops this month. Party band Brainscape have just returned from a tour and Andy Walton from power duo Front Cover is about to embark on a series of dates starting this week.

In conjunction with CSE we are very proud to have sent cover bands to entertain the troops in many parts of the world including Cyprus, Jakarta , The Falklands ,Germany etc etc. We are very aware that these tours are a welcome break from the rigours of duty for our troops and often receive thank you emails from service men and women.

The Hi Fidels Halloween Themed Set

Back when I was growing up Halloween was one of those strange American customs that you saw in movies and on television shows. It never occurred to my mates to go out asking for candy (even this word borrowed from the States) by knocking on doors and threatening to “trick” them if they didn’t deliver. What an amazing idea!

The first time we ever came across the trick or treat phenonoman was when we were in our early twenties and some kid knocked on the door and threatened “trick or treat.” When we made the mistake of asking him what his trick was he replied “I was thinking about burning your hedge down.”  It was that kind of neighbourhood.

Anyway skip forward twenty years and the UK is Halloween crazy. We haven’t yet reached the levels of celebration that they have in North America (a few years ago I spent Halloween in Canada where it seemed live every second house was made up like a Hollywood film set) but we are getting there.

Tonight I will be out trick or treating with the kids but throughout the UK Live Music Management have DJs playing Halloween themed nights in Walkabout Bars,Bar Risas and Wahoos. We also have a few bands playing at Halloween theme events. It is expected to be one of the biggest trading nights of the year.

The picture at the head of this page is our great party band The Hi Fidels playing a Halloween special a couple of years ago at Temple Walkabout where almost a thousand students dressed in fancy dress and the band brought the house down with rocked up versions of Ghostbusters etc.
