With vast experience in playing Corporate Events, Weddings, Parties and Functions, Bars and Restaurants 'After Dark' is a fantastic live band specializing in Soul, Motown, Disco, funk and Pop. From Aretha to Beyonce, Chaka khan to the Jackson 5 they will engage; entertain and wow your audience from the word go. Fronted by talented female vocalist Sam Sanderson and backed by some of the industries best session musicians, they have quickly become one of the most sort after acts on the circuit.

Available to work nationally and internationally in many different line ups including 4 piece, 5 piece, 6 piece, 7 piece, right up to the impressive 8 piece 'After Dark' is jsut as at home playing to small intimate audiences as they are playing arenas.

Creation

Formed in 2008 ‘After Dark’ has gone from strength to strength rapidly gaining a reputation as one of the best covers bands available. So far their clients have included Michael Owen , Brittany Ferries, Goodwood House and Racing, MITE, Chester Race Course, Chatsworth House, The Liverpool Echo, and Chester Business Awards to name but a few.

Musical Direction

'After Dark' is constantly adding to their extensive repertoire list and is always happy to learn 1 or 2 of your favourite song on request. The band prides themselves on putting their own twist on things where possible, creating slick arrangements that are unique to this band and an experience you won’t find any where else.

About Sam

Sam is a charismatic young vocalist who has vast experience within the music industry as a Performer, Arranger, Composer, and Session Singer. Some of her Major achievements in 2008 include: Backing vocalist for artist ‘Seal’, backing vocals for artist ‘Bon Jovi’ performing at the 2008 ‘Royal Variety Performance’.
Commercial Radio airplay consists of original song ‘Unspoken’ aired on Liverpools juice FM- Next Big Thing competition. Also includes original song ‘Friend in Me’ and own version of ‘What Goes Around Comes Around’ (Justin Timberlake) aired on Radio City.
• Toured internationally and nationally performing at high profile corporate events and parties Business Awards.
• Has also recently graduated from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts gaining BA Honours in Music.

About The Musicians

The band is made up by some of the music industries top sessions players and have performed with artists such as Natasha Bedingfield, Vanessa Mae, Sam Brown, Corrine Bailey Rae, Lilly Allen, Natasha Hamilton and Simon Webb plus extensive experience playing events such as Glastonbury and V festival.

The Jazz Duo Trio and Quartet

Although mainly booked for the party band ‘After Dark’ also performs high quality jazz and swing including all the best standards in their repertoire, ideal for that early easy listening dinner set or reception which can be broken down into a Jazz duo, trio and Quartet.

The Show

The show is sharp and classy and in turn will bring the same air of class to your event. With the added value of being able to perform in two styles, After Dark is a big hit with a lot of our clients as they feel like they are getting two bands for the price of one. Whether it is a private function or corporate event After Dark has the unmistakable energy and wow factor that will guarantee you a night to remember.

Sam and her band are dedicated to presenting a professional appearance and upholding the highest standard of professionalism at all times.

After Darks line up includes

4 Piece - Vocal + Bass + Drums + Keys
5 Piece - Vocal + Bass + Drums + Keys + Guitar
6 Piece - Vocal - Bass + Drums + Keys + Guitar + Sax
8 Piece - Vocal 1 + Vocal 2 + Bass - Drums + Keys + Guitar + Sax + Trumpet

(8 Piece includes male and female vocals)

Jazz Duo - Vocals + Keys or Jazz Guitar
Jazz Trio - Vocals + Keys or Jazz Guitar + Double Bass
Jazz Quartet Vocals + Keys or Jazz Guitar + Double Bass + Percussion

Also included

Band provides a PA and lights system for up to the 6 piece band. For anything larger the band will hire in an PA system at the extra cost of £250 to the client.

Location

South East based and will travel to these areas: South East, South West, Midlands, North East, North West, Wales.

Extra Costs

The price brackets above should be used as a guide only as all quotes are bespoke.

Performance times for most acts except Tributes and some other Unique performers are usually 2 x 60 minute sets or 3 x 40 min sets.

(If you require the act to perform longer than these times you may incur extra costs.)

Travel costs vary depending on the act and will be included to the quote given to you by our agents.

Our acts would usually expect to arrive around 5.30pm and to be finished around midnight.

(If you need the act to arrive earlier or finish later there may be extra costs but these can be negotiated.)
