Taking influence from the cream of international DJ Talent Jon Ee takes influence from Erick Morillio, DJ Dan, Pete Tong and others. Jon Ee has developed is own style of electronic dance music infused with his energetic personality to create his own unique style of ground breaking floor shaking party atmosphere.
Jon’s musical journey started in 1997 when at the tender age of seventeen Jon was introduced to the dance music scene by former mentor and Swoon resident Reg Chandler. After experiencing Birmingham’s legendary all-nighter Sundissential it was only a matter of time before Jon became a DJ. His first major break came soon after when renowned club Genesis offered him is first residency, Playing along side such guests as Tony DeVit, Andy Farley, Chad Lewis, Lisa Lashes, Tim Deluxe (double 99), Gail and many others. It didn’t take long before Jon’s talents where requested to guest at other Birmingham based clubs Dusk Till Dawn, Kudos, Bakers, Steering Wheel, Tin-Tins, and Wobble all where amazed at Jon’s skills to not only fill the dance floor but create a vibe that headliners loved to follow. Jon Was also taken on the Genesis tour after winning best preclub venue in the West Midlands 1998 he and all the other residents toured all over Birmingham its surrounding areas and a few venues in the South of England. With all this Jon got a dream job working for Dance Music Finder giving him a taste for the record shop life and help the ever growing record collection.
In late 1999 Jon moved from Birmingham to the bright lights of sunny Blackpool where he met local DJ legend and record shop owner Johnny Fresh, after securing a job at Johnny Fresh’s U.K renowned DJ shop Splash Records Jon was asked to guest at top Blackpool Club Heaven & Hell this was only the beginning. Jon returned to Heaven & Hell many times including playing on millennium new years eve and gusting at Heaven & Hell in Leeds. Jon’s reputation kept growing as he took residency’s at many of Blackpool’s venues including Swan’s beech bar, Finns, Bar Me, Copper Face Jacks and with guest spots at The world famous Palace, Blue and the Waterfront Club Jon’s talents were in high demand. This showed when Jon Ee was asked to guest on local Blackpool pirate radio station Planet 107 after a few guest shows Jon was given his own show called “in the shower with Jon Ee” the weekend warm up show was a great successes with an estimated 1000 listeners every weekend. Jon also succoured a residency at Bradford warehouse party Bubbles in 2001 playing with many gust DJ’s from all over the U.K. Jon Ee was also booked to open exclusive Blackpool club K2.
In 2002 Jon aged 22 and fellow DJ Devito aged 19 bought Splash Records to run the record shop for them selves and featured in Mixmag as the youngest record shop owners in the world! Making connections all over the industry Jon’s gigs increased with bookings for New Years Eve at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens complex with “Cream” playing along side Mauro Picotto, Pete Tong, Alistair Whitehead and Phatt Phil Cooper. Later that year Jon was asked for his first international date in Puerto Rico Gran Canaria at Club Joker. On his return Devito and Jon Ee started there own night in conjunction with the record shop, the night started as a one off Halloween party called scream at Blackpool club Insomnia, after its immediate success a regular once a month party was held at the club called “Therapy” with international guests every month and Jon Ee as a resident. Jon was also asked to play in Ireland at a night called “The Zone”.
Shortly after Jon returned Gran Canaria this time to take a residency at Jokers and Snoopy’s, Jon was entered in the national D.J competition where every club and bar enters a D.J, Jon finished the contest in first place and stayed in Puerto Rico for 9 months playing marathon sets every night of the week.
In 2004 Jon returned to Blackpool to take a residenticy at the Station show bar, doing party games and theme nights, Keeping down with the underground Jon Ee also took regular guest sets at Blackpool’s “Future Sounds” at club D.N.A along side fellow Therapy resident Dave Evans and international guests Vortex, Ubberdruck, D.J Shredda, Alex Kidd to name but a few. Jon Ee now turned his attention to the studio and with the help of “The Lost Boys” Chris Sulu, Marc C and DJ Devito, a single was born “The Lost Boys - Sell your Soul” featuring Jon’s vocal reached number 36 in the U.S progressive chart.
Jon Ee Also took a residency at the biggest under 18’s party in the U.K Heventeen saw crowds of more than 1000 plus all over the U.K
