Great musicianship!
Lots of fun! (Kate has been told she could do stand-up if she ever gets tired of singing!)
Unique and unusual both musically and for atmosphere
Act profile
Singer Kate Gieben works with a selection of top-class jazz guitarists and pianists. Guitarist Colin Black is the usual "other half", but Kate has also gigged regularly with internationally known jazz musician Paul Harrison. Jon Hall, another highly-regarded jazz pianist has also partnered Kate at many duo gigs.
Kate has been a professional singer for some years, and duo work has been an important part of her career. She has a wonderful audience rapport, as well as a soulful and heartfelt way of singing many standards and classic songs. She loves to sing swing numbers, and all gigs are a good mix of grooving uptempo numbers and beautiful ballads. Nobody gets bored with the Kate Gieben duo!
The songs on this site are those also listed for the Kate Gieben Band. The guitarist on the Kate Gieben Band songs is Colin Black, Kate's usual duo partner.

Hi,
Just wanted to let you know that the band on Saturday night were brilliant! They were so talented! and tailored the music to our needs, and even let us get up and sing a few songs with them! We had a lot of people dancing towards the end everyone had a great night. Many people made very positive comments about the band, we were all very impressed! The band said that they also really enjoyed themselves.
Thank you for everything! It was a great success, a 21st birthday I will certainly not forget!
Best regards
Hayley
