Highlights
Flexible - you are the most important person at your event, not some divas in a band! We will work
Value - We don't overprice ourselves. We would rather play a lot at a reasonable price than twiddle
Reliable - We are professional, down to earth and approachable. We won't let you down.
Act profile
L.A.Afters are a four piece rock and pop cover band comprising of Vocal, Guitar, Bass and Drums.
We set out to be different and eclectic, we don't want to be cheesy or run of the mill. We want our audiences to leave at the end of the night exhausted but wanting more!
There aren't many bands that would go from Elvis to Guns n Roses in one fell swoop! We try and cater for everyone at the party as they are the reason we get to do this great job and the most important people there! (No divas in this band!)
Based in Lancaster, we have been performing around the North West for over 3 years to appreciative audiences (both great and small!) in pubs, clubs, parties, weddings, corporate functions etc.
If you book L.A.Afters you get a lot more than a great band, you get:-
Value for money - We price ourselves sensibly as we would rather play at a good price than sit at home waiting for a fortune!
Reliability - We are professional, easy to contact and very flexible to your arrangements.
Peace of mind - All our equipment is PAT tested and we have full public liability insurance.
A personal service - Our clients are the most important people in our world. This means that whatever we can do to fit around your plans and help your special day or function run smoothly, we will do it. Your needs are greater than ours.
So, after all that, who are L.A.Afters??? We are:-
Andy Cruxton (lead vocals, guitar) - Andy has been playing in bands since his late teens. Now tipping 30 (only just mind!), he has had years of experience honing his performance and his voice. He has an excellent range allowing the band to perform songs you wouldn't often hear from other bands.
Jake Pinnington (lead guitar) - A graduate of music, a veteran performer, teacher and all round guitar God, and he's only 28! Jake is the cool, mysterious one... £10 to anyone who can make him laugh during one of his amazing solos!
Mike Shepherd (drums, vocals) - A soon to be graduate of Music Production, long time drummer and performer, Sheps knows how to rock. He can even sing a bit too! His vocal cameo in Pink Floyd's 'Brick in the wall' is something to behold!
Scott Young (bass, vocals) - Well... Scott... what the hell CAN'T he play??? Bass man, guitar hero, drummer boy, human jukebox! Scott has great stage presence, superb vocals and a mean bass line. Scott's harmonies add a fantastic dimension to most of our repertoire.
Line-up
Andy - Vocal, guitar

We can play acoustic sets during meals, waiting for evening guests, as background music. Think Radio One Live Lounge and you get the idea.
If it isn't on here, ask us and we will let you know if we can help.
Also included
We have our PA with more than enough punch to fill a decent sized wedding venue with 150-200 guests. We also have LED lights on stands to light up your moves!
If we think that your event would benefit from extra gear, we can source it very easily. Often that would be no extra cost to the client but we would discuss on a case by case basis.
Location
North West based and will travel to these areas: North West.

"Hi Rick,
We have just returned form our honeymoon today but wanted to drop you an email about LA Afters who played at our wedding on the 21st May 2011 at Knowsley Hall. The band are a really great group of guys who made the evening reception fantastic, so many of the guests approached during the evening and afterwards to say how much they enjoyed the band. Even before the wedding, Andy from the group spoke to us to discuss any reqirements we had and put our minds at ease that they would tailor their sets to suit us and our guests. They are without doubt a completely professional and talented group of guys who took time out to listen to what we liked and brought the house down on the 21st May 2011. Thank you.
Kind Regards
Iain and Louise Stringer" June 2011
1. “We booked L.A.Afters to play at the evening reception at our wedding at The Swan Hotel in Newby Bridge in the South Lakes. From the word go we were reassured with their professional manner and flexibility in their approach to our big day.
The acoustic set worked really well early on ,in the lull after the meal, and we can honestly say that the highlight of the day for us was the first dance, which the boys had learnt especially for the occasion and went down an absolute treat.
Later in the evening as the party really got going, the band played a wide range of songs almost non-stop which kept guests of all ages up and dancing all night long. The DJ’ing in-between sets was also very good and saved the need for additional expense!
We can’t praise the boys highly enough and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them, in fact we’d go as far as saying you’d be hard pressed to find a better wedding band!”

2. "We went to see L.A.Afters in the Stonewell Tavern in Lancaster. What an exciting little unit they are. With great musical ability and their own slant on all the songs they cover. We were very impressed with this young but talented group. They played numbers from the last 50 years and gave everybody something to sing along too. Their performance was also very good with short breaks between songs, no worrying long silences and some funny quips between numbers just to entertain. Entertain was exactly what they did. A full and very appreciative audience were in their hands for the night. Well done boys, we'll come and see you again and recommend everyone else should do the same!" -

4. "Just a quick note to thank you so much for playing at out wedding last Saturday. It was a very special part of a very special day. Thanks loads for playing such a wide variety of music and fitting so neatly around our plans. The amount of comments from the wedding itself and since that have been complimentary are many."
- Andy East, Lancaster, May 09
