Act profile
Deemed by many as the hardest working duo in the business - The The Dorset Duo phenomenon began in 2004 during a chance encounter at a local studio. After quickly establishing their mutual respect for soul and blues, the couple decided to team up and play all their favourite songs to whoever would listen. Instant approval meant the couple performing over 400 events in their first two years alone. Six years later, they show no signs of slowing down and are constantly striving for higher ground.
Sharing a background in performing, writing and producing spanning 20 years, The Dorset Duo are both accomplished artists in their own right... Together they are an unstoppable force. Deemed by many as the hardest working, most consistent duo in the business. Their sound offers a blend of acoustic guitar and electric piano, layered with soulful two-part harmonies. Add to this their razor-sharp wit and incredible musical compatibility... and you're guaranteed an evening of first-class entertainment!
As well as sharing a love for performing hits from classic artists such as Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and Joni Mitchell, they also cater for other tastes with songs from Kings of Leon, Crowded House, George Michael, Prince, Kanye West, Killers and Scissor Sisters. Overall their repertoire consists of around 300 songs spanning 6 decades.
Not only do The Dorset Duo prove popular around their regular haunts, but they are also an established favourite for events, parties and weddings throughout the UK, taking bookings over 2 years in advance. They are currently expanding their territory throughout parts of the world including Portugal, Sicily, and the USA.
