Act profile

The Fastbacks are a unique band playing rock and pop classics from the last few years but with a Jazz band. This way you will get songs that everyone knows with a classy slick sound that all ages will want to dance too. There's no Frank Sinatra here, expect songs from Pixie Lott, Cee Lo Green and Sam Sparro. Jazzpop are universal, danceable and are fantastic young musicians. The Fastbacks not only have universal appeal but a fresh, exciting energy and vibrancy that is unrivalled!

The Fastbacks started out as a Jazz and Swing band playing at Weddings, corporate events and Jazz festivals across the country. They were and still are very successful at this but they increasingly found that younger audiences enjoy the music but are not familiar with the Jazz Standards they were playing. The band also found that generally only the older generations actually knew how to dance to Swing type music, so some people were enjoying the music from the comfort of their chair. This had to change.


The band decided they would only play songs from the charts in the last few years so the songs would be instantly recognisable. The sound of the band would not alter; it would still have an organic Jazz and Blues sound that has stayed the same for 90+ years. All of a sudden the band had a universal appeal, fresh sounding but with timeless beats that everyone knew how to dance to. The merging of Jazz into Pop was complete.

The band have taken on recent anthems such as Mama Do by Pixie Lott and Forget You by Cee Lo Green and added danceable beats to them.

The 4 members of the band are well known in the North West as some of the best Jazz musicians on the scene, so if you are looking for a highly skilled band but are worried that not everyone is familiar with jazz standards then The Fastbacks are the ultimate experience for you.

Performance times for most acts except Tributes and some other Unique performers are usually 2 x 60 minute sets or 3 x 40 min sets.

Travel costs vary depending on the act and will be included to the quote given to you by our agents.

Our acts would usually expect to arrive around 5.30pm and to be finished around midnight.
