Act profile

The band members are all highly trained professionals having performed on TV and radio, in London’s west end theatres and have also toured and recorded extensively with the cream of pop royalty including Gloria Gaynor, Corner Shop, Suzi Quatro and Patti Boulaye to name a few. You have probably seen these musicians already and not realised it!

The Funky 4 really know how to get your party started! They are going to make your event the one that everyone remembers!

Dave - Vocals/Guitar
Dave currently plays in a variety of ensembles ranging from big bands with the legendary Andy Prior to nationwide based funk and jazz groups. A man of many talents, he also is a prolific songwriter/composer and juggles a very busy teaching schedule.

Adam (PhD) - Keyboards
Adam's distinctive piano playing has been noted for the diversity of its stylistic reference points; idioms drawn from any period of jazz history may be blended, collided, subverted, hinted at or played completely ‘straight’ in his performances.

Barry - Bass
Barry is a key player in the UK soul and funk scene. Barry has played bass in Kristyna Myles' band since 2005 and features on her debut album (decca 2011). Barry also teaches guitar and bass in his home town Wigan.

Gareth - Drums
Gareth is an in demand drummer hailing from Cheshire. Gareth's work encompasses a wide variety of musical situations. His live work sees him performing and touring all over the UK, Europe and Canada.

The Funky 4 can also provide live jazz at your wedding from a duo to the full band.

For larger venues we have access to up to a 22KW system (obviously this exceeds any but the largest venues!).

Lighting details: Standard rig: 4 X par 56, 2 X Scanners, 2 x Soundlab Cyclone.
We have access to much larger lighting rigs should a client require . Additional fees apply to all but the standard lighting rig.

The price brackets above should be used as a guide only as all quotes are bespoke.

Performance times for most acts except Tributes and some other Unique performers are usually 2 x 60 minute sets or 3 x 40 min sets.

(If you require the act to perform longer than these times you may incur extra costs.)

Travel costs vary depending on the act and will be included to the quote given to you by our agents.

Our acts would usually expect to arrive around 5.30pm and to be finished around midnight.

(If you need the act to arrive earlier or finish later there may be extra costs but these can be negotiated.)
